This paper proposes a strategy to improve governance through local partnerships. In addition, it present lessons from recent partnerships in seven OECD countries.

This paper proposes a strategy that governments can implement to improve governance through partnerships. It explores partnerships at the local level between the government, the private sector and civil society. These partnerships tackle issues of economic development, employment, social cohesion and the quality of life.

This paper presents lessons learnt from recent partnerships in seven OECD countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy and the United States.
