Gidi Grinstein is the Founder and President of the Reut Institute. Gidi established Reut in 2004 to address what he believed to be the most acute problem of Israel: that the weakness of its political system prevents it from facing the toughest challenges. Under the banner of 21st century Zionism, Gidi built up the institute by developing a new methodology, theory, and model of how to address strategic challenges. The result is an institute called by Thomas Friedman "Israel’s premier policy strategy group" that has a systemic impact on the critical issues facing Israel and the Jewish World.

Gidi previously served in the Office and then in the Bureau of PM Barak as the Secretary and Coordinator of the Negotiation Team of the Government of Israel to the Permanent Status negotiations between Israel and the PLO (1999-2001). During this time he participated in the 2000 Camp David Summit.

Gidi has an extensive background in policy and is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as a Wexner Israel Fellow (2002) and Tel-Aviv University Schools of Law (1999) and Economics (1991).

Gidi is the founder of Yesodot Group for reforming Israeli Governance; a member of Kol-Dor Group for global Jewish Peoplehood; was a member of "Israel 2025 – Scenarios for Future Developments"; and was a founding member of a group that worked to realize the vision of the "Birthright Israel" program.

Gidi regularly writes on Israeli National Security, Socio-Economic issues, Regional Developments and Israel-Diaspora relations. More information can be found on his blog, 'Blogidi: A Link in the Chain' at http://blogidi.com.
