The Oversight Committee is charged with supervising the financial activities of the Reut Institute in accordance with the laws that apply to non-profit organizations in Israel. Its members are:
Mr. Orenstein has extensive professional and academic knowledge across a wide range of issues, and especially in the areas of business development and management, research, analysis and design of economic models. He served as advisor for the Labor Policy Dept. at the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor, and as an economist at the Economic Cooperation Foundation (ECF). Mr. Orenstein holds an MA degree in economics (2000) and a B.Sc. in computer science (1994) from Tel Aviv University.
Mr. Cristal is a negotiator and expert in crisis management. He has extensive experience in working with various government ministries on issues related to political negotiations, strategic planning, and crisis management. He is a graduate of Bar-Ilan University Law School (1994) and holds an M.P.A. degree from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government (1998). Mr. Cristal teaches negotiation and crisis management at Tel Aviv University, the Interdiscplinary Center in Herzelia, and the Israeli Bar.
Mr. Shapira has ample experience in economics and information technologies (IT). Over the past two years, he has focused on Green Energy initiatives and investments. In the past, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of an information technology firm for over 10 years. He holds an MBA degree with a specialization in marketing, and a BA degree in economics, both from Bar-Ilan University. Mr. Shapira consults community involvement projects, such as the Taglit-Birthright program.
